The Gothic Girl

Braided, dressed in black, and visibly unimpressed by your party. Dry one-liners, a flat refusal to smile, and one stiff deadpan dance number that gets the whole room up. The tween favourite.

Built for the age that's too cool for a party entertainer

There's a window around eight to twelve where most children's entertainment stops working. Mascots are for little kids. A magic show gets watched with folded arms. The Gothic Girl exists for exactly that room, and she works because she is on their side of the joke — she thinks the party is ridiculous too.

The whole performance is deadpan. She doesn't do enthusiasm, she's reluctantly impressed at most, and the children spend the visit trying to make her react. Then the dance number happens — stiff, straight-faced, and performed with total commitment — and the entire room joins in. That's the bit parents film.

For younger siblings in the room she's harmless: there's nothing frightening about her, she just isn't aimed at them. If the party skews under six, the vampire or a mascot character will land better.

FAQs — the Gothic Girl

No. She's an original Binx character — deadpan, braided, dressed in black and unimpressed by absolutely everything. We're not affiliated with any studio or streaming service and we don't perform licensed characters.
Eight and up. The humour is dry rather than silly, which is exactly why it works for the age group that has decided party entertainers are for little kids. Under-sixes usually get more out of a mascot.
A deliberately stiff, completely straight-faced routine the children learn and perform with her. It's the moment the room stops being too cool for it, and it's the clip every parent films.
No deposit on staffed entertainment — you pay when the performer arrives. Cash is our primary payment method; please arrange anything else with our team before the date.
