Tell a grown-up, “I predict your answer will be 3.” Ask them to think of a number, double it, add 6, divide by 2, then subtract their starting number.
Reveal the secret
The number they chose cancels out. Adding 6 then dividing by 2 leaves 3. Practice with a small number first, then give your trick a grand introduction.
Draw an impossible balloon
Can you invent a balloon animal nobody has seen before? Give it three silly features and a name. Tell someone what magical power it has.
